Doug Barnes – President and CEO
Doug Barnes, President and Chief Executive Officer, is a seasoned executive in the electronics and water technologies industries. He served as Chief Operating Officer of NanoH2O, Inc., a provider of reverse osmosis membranes for the desalination market, which was acquired by LG Chem in 2014. From 1986 to 2011 Mr. Barnes served in several executive roles at Planar Systems, Inc. in Beaverton Oregon, including VP and General Manager of the specialty display business for 5 years, as well and VP of Global Manufacturing at Planar Systems for 12 years. Doug graduated from Stanford University with a BS in Industrial Engineering.

Norbert Puetz Ph.D. – Vice President R&D
Norbert brings 30 years of experience in compound semiconductor technologies to PLT. During this time he has held positions with Cyrium Technologies, an Ottawa, Canada based company producing quantum dot enhanced triple junction concentrator solar cells (Director of Manufacturing); VP Optical Components with Agility Communications of Santa Barbara, CA (acquired by JDSU in 2005); Sr. Director of Wafer Fab Engineering with Bookham in Ottawa, Canada; Director of Wafer Fab Engineering with Nortel in Ottawa, Canada; Manager of MOCVD with Bell-Northern Research in Ottawa/ Canada. He started his professional career as Member of Scientific Staff with Bell-Northern Research.
Dr. Puetz holds a Ph.D. in Semiconductor Technology from the University of Aachen (RWTH), Germany.

Juanita Kurtin Ph.D. – CTO and Founder
Juanita has a broad background in nanomaterials research and development with direct applications in transistors, solar cells, and light emitting diodes. She started her post-academic career leading nanomaterials research efforts at Intel. Prior to founding PLT, Dr. Kurtin was the VP of R&D at SpectraWatt, a solar cell manufacturing company, which was spun out of Intel in 2008.
Dr. Kurtin obtained her BS degree in Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and her Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of California at Berkeley, studying with quantum dot pioneer Dr. Paul Alivisatos.
