Production Line Operator

Duties/Responsibilities

The role of production operator at PLT will be to run a chemical synthesis step for the commercial manufacturing of material at PLT’s Portland facility. Depending on the candidate, the job may also include inventory management and other tasks in support of manufacturing production.

Responsibilities in detail:

  • Repeatably perform chemical synthesis as described in written procedures
  • Handling of chemicals
  • Shipping/receiving/ordering/stocking in support of production if necessary
  • Equipment maintenance and calibration if necessary

 

Skills and Experience:

Required

  • Highly motivated, self-directed and goal-oriented
  • High attention to detail in following a written procedure
  • Ability to work in a team environment to brainstorm ideas for efficiency improvements, process optimizations, automation, cost reductions, etc.
  • Demonstrate good knowledge of laboratory and chemical safety
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite

Desired

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience handling, storing, and disposing of hazardous and flammable substances

 

Education

Quality Engineer

Duties/Responsibilities

The role of the quality engineer at PLT is to lead, manage and ensure implementation of the PLT Quality System. Using Gage R&R, SPC, FMEA, Control Plans and other related quality controls, the quality engineer will ensure that the manufacturing process output meets specifications and will participate in the continuous improvement of the manufacturing process. A key responsibility of this position is to review batch records and generate documentation regarding production material, including customer-facing documents such as certificates of analysis, PPAP records and Corrective Action Responses. The job will also include other tasks in support of manufacturing production, operations and supplier management.

Responsibilities in detail:

  • Production documentation preparation and document control
  • Support product spec development and revisions
  • Handling incoming supplies and processing outgoing shipments
  • QC testing
  • Root cause analysis and corrective action for Suppliers and Customers
  • Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) for production
  • Customer communications as required

 

Skills and Experience:

Required

  • Knowledge of operations and manufacturing processes, including FMEA, CAPA, Control Plans, SPC and other quality related methods
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail
  • Able to handle critical deadlines in a multi-task team environment
  • Highly motivated, self-directed and goal-oriented
  • High attention to detail in following a written procedure
  • Demonstrate good knowledge of laboratory and chemical safety; familiarity with handling chemicals
